T46G + EXP40 + EHS36 - Kriss - 03-17-2014 09:30 PM

Hi team,

I can't manage to use the EHS36 when plugged to the EXP40 (itself plugged on a T46 phone).
On the other hand, all is Ok when plugged directly on the T46.

Do i need some EXP40 firmware update or something ?

[FAQ]How to upgrade EHS36?

2. Please make sure you connect them as this order: T46-EXP40-EHS36-wireless headset

Hi Guys,

I'm using the Plantronics C6540 headset, the Yealink EHS36 and the EXP40 on the Yealink T46G, but cannot answer or hang up calls via the headset button.

I've upgraded the Firmware as bellow:
T46G Firmware: 28.72.0.205
EXP40 Firmware: 6.16.0.0
EHS36 Firmware: 3.16.0.0

The Answering seems to work via the Yealink T28P, but not through the Yealink T46G. Can anybody help me?

Hi Mason,

Please upgrade your T46G firmware to the latest one and don't use the special firmware 28.72.0.205 which only used to upgrade EHS/EXP40.

We have multiple EHS36 Devices. The one I used on the T28P did not have the 'Special Firmware' on it.

What is your firmware of T46G now? I advise you to upgrade firmware of T46G and test again.

EDITED: sorry wrong thread, but if you are using a CS540 try the below.


This issue keeps popping up, after a firmware update if its still not working its the 3.5mm audio jack, the yealink ones are slightly shorter than standard, if you could please push and hold the 3.5mm jack into the plantronics base and try to answer a call.

If that works, it means you need to buy another 3.5mm audio cable.

Yealink support, could you recommend trying this for all posts regarding the CS540 specifically. As it happens with all of them. Have tested with multiple new CS540 and other plantronic 500 series and it appears only for the 540.

Will the EHS36 work when there are multiple (3) EXP40 units connected to a T46G? I can make it work fine with a single EXP40, but with 3 EXP40s it doesn't quite work, even if the EXP40s are powered with a power supply.

Frustrating....
