Great phone ! Shame about the headset volume.

Is it the handset itself? Have you tried using the handset in the headset port to see if its the physical microphone, or the port itself? If it happens in both ports, you might want to try a handset from a different phone and possibly a different phone cord as well. That would narrow down the issue.

Also, just out of curiosity, have you tried talking into the speakerphone microphone, to see if the volume changes on the other end? Sometimes when I switch from handset to speakerphone, the handset mic is the one that stays active until I hang it up (sometimes I just lay it down on the desk). People can't hear me then. I'm curious if something similar might be happening here (but in reverse), where the speakerphone mic is the one that is active.

Just to clarify, the problem is with the headset mic, the handset is fine. I'm using the recommended Yealink YHS32 headset by the way.

Sorry, I must've missed that from the conversation.

Still, the same principle applies. The headset should still work in the handset port and vice versa. Swapping ports would be a good way of determining if there is an issue with the phone/port or the headset itself.

Is there any progress? I would like to be able to be able to adjust gain & volume for handset and headset. This feature was present in older phones but not in this new series. I did read that the Yealink engineers considered this not necessary but I would suggest you leave this up to the users.

Hi,

The send volume of T4x can be adjusted through autoprovision:

voice.handfree_send =
voice.handset_send =
voice.headset_send =

It range from -120~30. Default value is 1.

Regards,
James

Hi James,

the defalut values are:

voice.handfree_send =25
voice.handset_send = 35
voice.headset_send = 29

Did you mix something up, or did things change?

best regards Frank
