T46G randomly rebooting - Frank Drews - 02-11-2016 11:28 PM

Hi,

I got the situation, that T46G phones seems to be rebooting randomly. They are not rebooting very often, we got 220 phones and maybe 20 are rebooting a day, but not the same ones. The phones, which are affected rebooted about once in three days, or less.
I am not sure, if I capture all the reboots, I am just counting the unregister and register messages in the event-log files of my 3cx. Maybe there are more reboots, that don't register.

First I have a specific question considering weekly provisioning:

My settings are:
auto_provision.weekly.enable = 1
auto_provision.weekly.begin_time = 00:00
auto_provision.weekly.end_time = 03:00
auto_provision.weekly.mask = 0123456

Does it mean, that the phones start reprovisioning at midnight and stop at 3 in the morning? Or does it mean, that phones won't provision during this time, because those times are my office hours. The comments in the provisioning file (setting the times to start at 07:45 to 19:45) suggest the later.

#If the desired start time of the day is seven forty-five a.m., the value format is 07:45.
#If the desired end time of the day is seven forty-five p.m., the value format is 19:45.

I think, I set the times correctly, but I ask, because I want to make sure.

When exactly are the phones sending register and unregister messages?
I made some test:
- Pulling the plug of the Phone: Reboots, Reprovisions, but does not unregister
- Restarting the phone from phone menue: phone does unregister
- Restarting the phone from 3cx: phone restarts does not unregister
- Reprovisioning from 3cx: phone reboots, but does not unregister
- Reprovisioning from phones web interface: it does not reboot, does not unregister

Is this the expected behaviour?

Some more data:
T46G Firmware 28.73.0.48

auto_provision.pnp_enable = 1

#0-Disabled (default), 1-Power on;
auto_provision.mode = 1

auto_provision.repeat.enable = 0

Half of the phones are on PoE, the other half isn't. It is a little difficult to test and log things, because there are so many different phones, and most of the times they work. I can deliver some log files of the phones, which unregistered and registered.

I will try disabling weekly provisioning. I won't disable power-on provisioning, because than I am not able to remotely reprovision the phones. Maybe I will disable pnp provisioning, too.

How should I proceed?

Best regards Frank

Does anyone get answers from Yealink?
I have the same issue on the Broadsoft, where the phone reboots mid call?

[Karl] Yes, you are correct, the phones start reprovisioning at midnight and stop at 3 in the morning.

[Karl] so only when you restart the phone from phone menu, the phone can't register.
1. How do you restart the phone via phone menu?
2. Would you mind help us to get the syslog and config.bin files.
Please set the syslog level to 6, then restart the phone.
After reboot, if the account register fail, please export the syslog and config.bin files immediately, then send to me.
(It's better that you can send to me via email(karl@yealink.com), and copy this thread, so I can know what problem for the trace files.)

[Karl] If you don't use the PNP server to auto provision.
You can disable this feature.

#0-Disabled (default), 1-Power on;
auto_provision.mode = 1

auto_provision.repeat.enable = 0
