T4x + EHS36 + Plantronics Savi 700/720 Call pickup - JSM Communications - 01-26-2016 10:16 PM

Hello everyone,

JSM Communications is a company that sells a VOIP solution in Belgium, we use the Hexios platform. We only sell Yealink phone with our solution due to price/kwality and modern look.

We have multiple clients working with Plantronics Savi 700/720 solutions linked with EHS36 to the Yealink phones (T41/T42/T46).

The firmware we use:
T41: 36.73.0.50
T42: 29.73.0.50
T46: 28.73.0.50

We sell the headset mostly to clients that want work handsfree and roam around the office. Savi 700/720 are DECT with almost 300 meter coverage (excellent craftmanship). Mostly used is the button on the side of the headset to answer the call and end the call.

Everything works just fine in this setup ... UNTILL you upgrade to the new firmware.

New firmware:
T41: T41-36.80.0.70
T42: T42-29.80.0.70
T46: T46-28.80.0.70

After the upgrade its not possible to pickup a call using the button on the side of the headphone. As soon as you downgrade the firmware everything works fine again; that means all cables are connected perfectly (cables are NOT the issue).

I stress on the fact that the cables are NOT the issue, because in all the forum posts about this issue you (Yealink admins) give as "solution": check the 3.5mm DC jack.

Another solution is, stay with the old firmware... not possible with 1 client.

Problem with that 1 specific client:
* 30 T42 phones
* 27 T42 phones in the new firmware
* 3 T42 phones in the old firmware + headset
>> The 3 phones in the old firmware keep locking up (crashing) about an averge of 4 times a day.
>> After the update to the new firmware they dont crash anymore but call pickup isnt possible anymore.

I hope the issue is clear for everyone, if you need more information please dont hesitate and ask for it.
I'll be watching this thread with hawkeye's, because I want this issue to be resolved ASAP (and im probebly not alone).

Hi,

For this issue,first of all,when you upgrade to the V80,I suggest you reset the phone firstly,then test again.

if reset can not be helpful,please test with "xx.80.0.90" version,you can get the three veisions from below link:

after that,if this issue still exist,Please send the level 6 system log, config.bin file and PCAP traces to klaus@yealink.com.

Note:we need the comparative files,one for V73,one for V80,so with the three model phones,we need 18 files.

thank you for the quick reply.

I'm doing the test as we speak, here are some results i already have:

T42:
Firmware 29.73.0.50 is succesful, call pickup with headset works.
Firmware T42-29.80.0.70 is not succesful, call pickup with headset does not work.
Firmware T42-29.80.0.90 is succesful, call pickup with headset works.

You'll receive all the files when im done with the other phones aswell.

Good news that the firmware T42-29.80.0.90 works, is it safe to roll out to our customer that is have the headset problems or are there still some hidden bugs in this firmware?

Can it hurt that 3 phones run on the new firmware (T42-29.80.0.90) and 27 on the older firmware (T42-29.80.0.70)?
