T46 won't provision distinctive ring properly - imfloridaguy - 11-29-2015 07:17 PM

Hello,

I'm running firmware version 28.80.0.70 on a T46G

I am provisioning the following:

features.alert_info_tone=1
distinctive_ring_tones.alert_info.1.text=InfoText-1
distinctive_ring_tones.alert_info.1.ringer=Ring2.wav

distinctive_ring_tones.alert_info.2.text=InfoText-2
distinctive_ring_tones.alert_info.2.ringer=Ring3.wav

The first line (distinctive_ring_tones.alert_info.X.text) provisions correctly.
The second line (distinctive_ring_tones.alert_info.X.ringer) does NOT provision correctly. It has to be changed in the GUI manually.
Look at the picture and you'll see that it always stays as Ring1.wav.

Is this a known bug?

I have confirmed that with a T26P running firmware 6.73.0.50 it does work properly.

Hello,

The personalized setting protect may be enabled. You can reset local config under Setting-> Upgrade or disable the feature by provision:

auto_provision.custom.protect = 0

For more info about the feature, please check autoprovision guide.

Regards,

James,

No, we do not use the auto_provision.custom.protect setting. This has burned us before and we stopped using it 6 months ago.
However, just to be safe, I checked the config to confirm it is not there.

What's next? Have you tested this in-house?

I've tried on several phones and can duplicate it.

Guy
