Using VLANs - lonvoice - 10-21-2015 12:23 AM The VLAN terminology confuses me, as it's 'PC PORT' and 'WAN PORT'. If I set the PC PORT VLAN, but *don't* set the WAN port VLAN, does that mean the PC's traffic will be tagged, and the voice will be untagged? RE: Using VLANs - Yealink_Michael - 10-21-2015 06:06 AM HI Thanks for your information, for the VLAN , yes, in your situation , PC's traffic will be tagged, and the voice will be untagged. The purpose of VLAN configurations on the IP phone is to insert tag with VLAN information to the packets generated by the IP phone. When VLAN is properly configured for the ports (Internet port and PC port) on the IP phone, the IP phone will tag all packets from these ports with the VLAN ID. The switch receives and forwards the tagged packets to the corresponding VLAN according to the VLAN ID in the tag as described in IEEE Std 802.3. VLAN on IP phones allows simultaneous access for a regular PC. This feature allows a PC to be daisy chained to an IP phone and the connection for both PC and IP phone to be trunked through the same physical Ethernet cable. for more details, please refer to the admin guide download from below link , page 560: http://support.yealink.com/attachmentDownload/download?path=upload%2Fattachment%2F2015-7-17%2F3%2F48576d86-ba41-45dd-9c39-c6953caebed4%2FYealink_SIP-T2_Series_T19%28P%29+E2_T4_Series_IP_Phones_Administrator_Guide_V80_60.pdf TKS & BR Michael |
