Action URI: when is authentication required? - Plerry - 11-08-2013 03:52 PM

Something that has been puzzling me for a while: Huh
Regarding the use of Action URI's, several of your manuals mention
something like "When authentication is required, you must enter ..."

But: when is authentication required?
Is that as soon as a password for the "admin"-user has been changed from "admin" into something else?
Or as soon as a password has been defined for the "user"-user?
Or is it an option that can be selected (but I have not found yet)?

I never seem to be able to circumvent the need for authentication.
The Action URI filtering on IP-address and the explicit OK that needs to be provided on the phone (since FW7x) is sufficient for me.

Thanks in advance!

If you don't open the webpage of phone and not remember the password in your PC, it will need to enter the user name and password in the ACTION URI commond.
