I am trying to play the multicast page of a T26P running firmware version 140 on VLC software.
VLC is set to listen for multicast on the IP and port of the phone.
On the phone, when I hit the page button I've assigned, VLC running on my computer immediately responds with an error.
The error is "A description in SDP format is required to receive the RTP stream".
Because the error happens immediately upon my pressing the page key on my phone (and other phones do play the page), I know VLC on my computer is 'hearing' the page, however it can't play it.

Can you assist in telling me about exactly the format used in the page? Any details may help me figure this out.

Thanks!
Hello,
About multicast paging feature, you can refer to our user guide(page 97):
http://www.yealink.com/Upload/Version/T2...de_V70.pdf
And we just tested this feature between IP phones.
One of my clients problems is that the paging is too quiet. We've turned the volume up, but it's still to quiet.
Prior to using the Yealink phones, his Nortel system was very loud and they had no problem using it.
The client doesn't want to purchase a paging speaker as they are very costly when the phones should work just fine.

Can you offer any way to make the paging volume louder?
The volume on the VLC app is low?
No, I was talking about the phone in general.
I can't get vlc to play the multicast stream. It errors out.
You mean when make paging call, the volume is low, but if you make the normal call with speaker, the volume is OK?
You can try to adjust the "Handfree Send Volume" in the webpage-Phone-Featrures-Audio Settings
And check again, thanks.
What I mean is that when making a paging call, we need MORE volume. This is due to the fact that in the environment, there is some very noisy equipment and during busy times, it is difficult to hear the page.
