Can anyone advise on this? No problem hearing caller with headset or via handset speaker but cannot hear anything when headset held to my ear. Worked fine last week and no changes to settings. Have tried handset reset and volume is up to max

Sounds like a fault in the handset. Have you tried a handset reset?

You could try squeezing ear piece between front and back to see if it crackles or returns. Usually there are just springs or pogo pins making connection between the earpiece speaker and the circuit board so the connection may no longer good and this may show by pressing the front and back together.

Hope that helps.
What was the reolution for this problem, i have a T54W withe the same issue.

As previously mentioned above, this could be a short in the headset microphone, if that is where the issue is. If you open up a line and call a colleague or family member, you can move the microphone or squeeze the headset to see if anyone hears crackling noises or the sound coming in and out.

Otherwise, depending on how you have it plugged in, it could also be the port. If you are plugged in through the headset port, and it is a phone-style jack, you can swap the headset and handset. You can plug the handset into the headset port and then hit the headset button on the phone. If you hear everything fine, the port is good, if the problem persists, the port itself could be the problem.

If you have specific details about your phone and the headset, that would be great to know, if you still need this issue resolved!
