I have scoured the internet and these forms for an answer or solution to de-registering a handset from a base without the base present. I cannot be the only one who has had this problem.

I had a previous base (W52PW56P) that died on me and I was unable to de-register the handset from the base. I have a new base and have the phone registered to the new base but the old registration still shows up in the phone.

I want to remove it.

Does anyone know of any way to deregister a handset from a base WITHOUT the previous base present? There has to be a way for these kinds of situations. Even a deep factory reset (as the base registration persists through a 'factory reset'). If there's no way then that was some serious oversight on the developers end.

Second post and again rejected as Akismet says it is SPAM! But just adding this sentence and mentioning SPAM gets it accepted!

Same problem here after buying a refurbished W60P, the handset shows two base registrations, I want to remove one but you can't without having the base, surely there must be a way? I've tried resetting the handset but the registration remains.
I know this thread is over two years old, but should anyone else find them in the same situation, what worked for me was to add the handset to the new base and downgrade the handset firmware to 61.85.0.35. The handset rebooted after the update finished and although it remained synced to the new base, the old base was gone.
