Howdy,

We have some CP960 phones and sometimes people want to use them as a stand alone speakerphone without joining a meeting. I'm supposed to be able to plug a Micro USB cable from the phone to my laptop and select it as the Audio device. I've tried this with multiple phones and multiple laptops and can't get it to work.

Windows recognizes the device and it shows up as speakers and a mic but no sound plays from the device and the mic doesn't puck up any noise and transmit it to my laptop. Anyone have the same phone and does it work for you?

Thanks.

Dear Customer,

Good day. This is Jacky from Yealink Technical Support Team. Nice to meet you.
For your issue, I attached a file to you for some double check, please kindly read. Thanks a lot.

Best Regards
Jacky
I have the same issue. We purchased 2 CP960. Device works when using as stand alone Teams phone but it will not work as audio device connected to PC.

Using audio cable makes no difference. USB A doesn't do anything. Micro USB connects to PC and can see CP960 but doesn't pass audio.
I opened a ticket and was told that this functionality was left out in the Teams firmware and only works with the SfB firmware. That's a huge problem since we use our phones via USB all the time.

I sure hope this gets added soon or we may have to return these devices.

Ouch....I guess I'm returning both phones.

I just bought one to test it out with Teams and hoped to buy another 5 to do the setup for a new office conference rooms. All documents and youtube video indicate that it works for laptop and bluetooth connection. I spent hours trying to make it work - tried multiple laptops and USB cables and I thought I was doing something wrong. Until I found this thread which confirmed CP960 is not ready for Prime time for Teams. I guess I won't be buying another 5 and also returning this first one. Thanks everyone for sharing.

Ohh this is bitterly disappointing. I thought I was going crazy. My client has 10 CP960 phones for use with Teams and we spotted the datasheet where it says you can plug in the CP960 to a laptop. My client has bought a couple of Jabra USB mics/speakers but that's a lot more expense when the CP960 has all the hardware.

Very disappointing when it's the firmware/software letting it down but then again, the Teams versions are generally a little disappointing. I notice that there was a new 085 ROM released on 25th Nov 2019 - wonder if this version has this functionality?

PS. I'm trying to download it but the Yealink site is horribly slow today. ETA was 2 hours for a 299MB download... and I've ever connected to a laptop that's on 1Gbps internet link and it's not much faster.
Anyone updated to CP960-73.15.0.96.rom yet and able to report if it works as a speaker/mic combo on USB? Grasping at straws as my client has already bought 10 Jabra's for this. But real shame it's not supported due to a software issue?
