Full Version: Random 'wake up' when in Power saver/screensaver mode

Hello.

We have T29G phones running firmware: 43.83.0.10.
We are using freePBX 14.0.2.18 with Asterisk 13.19.1

The phones seem to 'wake up' randomly from being in a screen saver state or power saver mode. I did see in the documentation that a BLF light change can cause the phones to wake up, but I'm seeing this behavior during off business hours when no one is using the phones. Watching asterisk with verbose showed no activity whatsoever yet the phones will randomly wake up.

Most of the phones are connected to a PC using the phone's internal switch. Could some sort of network traffic from the PC be causing the phone to wake? I do have a few phones NOT connected to a PC, and they will wake also, sometimes at different times and not as much.

Any areas where I can look to track this down or confirm this suspicion?

Not the end of the world, but distracting when the phones lights up for no reason.

Thanks for reading and any suggestions.

Dear Customer,

To troubleshoot this issue, we need you follow below FAQ to catch this random activatity in the syslog on level 6.

http://support.yealink.com/faq/faqInfo?id=712

Export the log to the syslog server and when you notice the issue is happening agian, stop the capturing and send us the log with the config.bin file, please also suggest the time point.

Thanks and regards
Samuel Wang
Thanks for the reply Samuel.

I have sent you an email with the syslog and time periods. Is that ok or should I submit them somewhere else? I was not sure if they are safe to post in a public forum.

Thanks again.

Hi Pipe,

Sorry I haven't seen any email from you in this forum, I think this forum is not the best place to submit an issue. Maybe next time you can submit this kind of question in the Yealink Ticket System(ticket.yealink.com)?

In the ticket system, your issue submitted there will be treated more professionally, and usually you will get a response in 24 hours.

In this case, please send me the diagnostic files to my email: samuel@yealink.com.

Kind Regards
Samuel Wang
Ah! I tried to find a ticketing system but obviously missed it. Thanks for pointing it out and will certainly use it next time.

I have sent you an email with the logs.

Thanks again!

Hi Pipe,

I got the requested syslog, but I also need to the config.bin to check on this issue, please follow the FAQ again to export the config.bin file to me, thanks.

Dear Pipe,

We found it was caused by the BLF subscribe activities in the V83 firmware, and this is configurable via auto provisioning,

features.blf_active_backlight.enable=0

Please have a try and let me know if it works for you.

Kind Regards
Samuel Wang
Just to follow up, that indeed fixed my issue.

Thanks Samuel for all the help!
