Full Version: T46G Call Fwd DSS Key enables / disables ALL fwd types

Hi guys and gals,

We're utilising T46G handsets configured via Broadsoft.

Previously if a Programmable Key was set up as a "Forward", the first time you pressed the button and activated the forward the device would ask you what type of forward you wished to activate; ie. Always, Busy, or No Answer - for which we simply want Call Fwd Always. Then forever more when you press this key it would enable / disable just the specified Call Fwd Always type.

In recent months we've noticed that if you set up a Programmable Key as "Forward" it doesn't ask which type of forward you wish to activate, and it enables / disables ALL call fwd types (Always, Busy and No Answer). This is obviously not the outcome we're after, as we want the Busy and No Answer settings to remain ON at all times, and we simply want to be able to enable / disable the Always Fwd setting when customers are out of office.

FYI - we're either adding the following line into the customer's config, OR, supplying the customer the below instructions to manually set up the button. Both methods used to previously work for just the Call Fwd Always option.

Is there a particular line of configuration I can amend to force this button to only apply to Call Fwd Always?

#Configure Line Key6
linekey.6.label = MessageBank
linekey.6.type = 2
linekey.6.value = 03****6214

OR

To create an out of hours button - press the top-right button next to the screen (that has been left blank), and hold the button in for 4 or 5 seconds; menu options will appear on screen.

On the menu you can change the option selected by using the arrow keys that surround the “OK” button on the phone.

- Scroll across on “Type” until you’ve selected “Key Event”, then press the down arrow to move down to the next line.
- On “Key Type” scroll through and select “Forward”, then press the down arrow to move down to the next line.
- “Label” is a free text field, so you can call the button whatever you’d like, then press the down arrow to move down to the next line.
- “Value” is the destination you’d like calls to be forwarded to out of hours – if the preferred destination is your Voice2Email then enter “02****9359”, or if you’d like it to go to an alternative mobile or other number then enter that.
- Hit “Save” and the phone will update its config and the button will be saved!

The first time you press the button it will ask what type of Call Forward you want to use – please select “Call Forward Always”.

Once you’ve set the button up using these instructions, it’s just a simple press to activate / deactivate at the start and end of each day.

Thanks for any assistance or advice you can provide.

Dear customer,

I just test on my side with latest firmware:28.82.0.20, and found that this firmware works normally, and you will only have Always forward options when you configure through this way, example as below:

You set a forward key and set a value as a forward number, then you save the configure, once you press the key, the phone will automatically enable/disabled Always forward, you don't need to choose which type you want to configure.

So would you please kindly try to download below latest firmware and test again?

Any question, please feel free to contact us.

Hi Aishion,

Can you please confirm which lines you're populating in the config and with what values?

When you enable a forward key, it does enable and disable the Always Forward setting, but it also enables and disables the Busy and No Answer settings, which I don't want to change - I want them to remain on always.

Dear customer,

Yes, I check on my Web UI and only Always forward enabled, may I know which firmware are your phone running? Or you can kindly upgrade to the latest firmware and test again.

Any question, please feel free to contact us.
