Fonality loads a custom firmware that does not allow users to up or downgrade firmware. I know there is a specialized firmwarefir the T-42Gand T-48G that allows you to remove Fonality. Does anyone know how or where to get this firmware?

Thanks
More info:
In the Baracuda networks they have noted this solution found previously.

We recently encountered a situation with a Barracuda partner using Yealink T42 and T46 phones that had previously been provisioned to Fonality hosted service. These phones refused to downgrade to the phone firmware we use on our phone system GA firmware and also refused to upgrade to the firmware we use on our most recent EA firmware. These phones were on a custom Fonality firmware which showed the following issues:

The web UI for the phones showed a Fonality logo instead of a Yealink logo
The phones showed a Fonality logo on the LCD superimposed over the top of the background image we send to the phones
The BPS does not correctly read DTMF from the phones causing issues with calling auto attendants, checking voicemail, etc.

These phones refused to take a manual upgrade or downgrade off the Fonality firmware via the phones’ web UI as well.

The partner followed up with Yealink and Yealink provided a link to download firmware files that these phones WILL accept for a manual firmware update, after which the phones will then upgrade or downgrade to the firmwares we ship on the BPS. This will resolve the above issues. The download link is:

[link no longer accessible]
http://ftp.yealink.com/?ShareToken=F36CA...B0BB194143

The larger file is for the T46G and the smaller one is for the T42G.

I wanted to pass this along to our customer base due to the likelihood of someone encountering this again in the future at some point.

I also need to remove the Fonality Firmware as we cancelled with them a couple years ago and went to a new provider. I am unable to update the firmware at all. Any help would be appreciated so we can update the yealink T42G phones we purchased through them originally. Thanks!

Regards,

Not a problem. I got the over-write firmware now. I loaded up and now Fonality is gone.
Anyone have the link and instructions, I still haven't heard from support. Thanks!

Have you contacted them by email? (in the bottom of the forum there's an email techsupport@yealink.com.)

I don't have the special firmware but normal TFTP recovery should work as well. Google yealink TFTP recovery for instructions.
Have the same issue need to remove Fonality Firmware so I can have yealing firmware installed on the phone I have a T42G.

Dose anyone have a workaround

All the best,
