Full Version: T38G auto-provisioing. How to clear out value of a text parameter

Hello,

This may be a silly question, but I seem to be unable to figure it out.
I'm trying to auto-provision T38G, firmware 38.70.1.33, and I don't see
how I can clear out a text value after it has been initially set. Let me explain.

For example in mac.cfg I set:
voice_mail.number.2 = 138

After reboot the phone recognizes this setting and I see "138" as vm number for account 2.

Now I want to remove this setting so that account 2 has no vm number configured.
If I change mac.cfg as follows:
voice_mail.number.2 =
then phone just ignores it and account 2 still has vm number set to 138.
If I set it to be:
voice_mail.number.2 = " "
then phone interprets that literally I have vm number set to "quote-space-quote".

What should I do to clear up that value?
Thanks,

Michael
hi

you can do a factory reset to the phone , then it will set to empty .

for the auto provision sentence , i will check and reply to you quickly
Sure, but are there another way?
I'm ITSP considering using yealink phones. I need an easy way to change phone configuration without physical access to the phone.
Thanks,
Michael
You can try %NULL% or !NULL! to empty the value and revert to default.
See here

I can't test it on the T38G right now. Just know the T3x model lag in features, bug fixes and firmware updates. T4x and T2x have much better support, which should be a better choice in the long run.
That works! Thanks a lot.
Thanks for the advice too. I'll be looking at other phone models as well.

Best regards,
Michael
