any update on this? I would be interested to see if the BLF audible alert can be changed to one of the ring files...

I suppose BLF is meant to be an unobtrusive method of indicating if an extension is busy. It is a 'Busy Lamp Field' after all, and any audio notification is a bonus. I wouldn't want a full blown ringtone for BLF notification as it is too intrusive. You may as well set up multi-extension ringing on your PBX if that's how you want it.
Having said that, Sometimes if you're doing something else, you could miss the first and only time it makes the noise when there is an incoming call to the BLF extension. Making the audio notification sound the 'blip' or 'bip' noise every 15 or 20 seconds would be nicer, and not too intrusive.
