thanks for the input and thoughts. I wondered if it would be difficult to implement because it would need another attribute per BLF key. Although the phone does already handle differentlal rings based on the alert string. Setting it at group level would be fine, as you suggest. In fact thinking about it, this how Cisco achieve it, by having a tickbox against those blfs that need the audio alert.

Looking forward to seeing in a release in the near future.

Hi Chris,

Thanks for the confirmation, I will discuss with our PD team and get back to you soon.

Have a nice day!

Dear all,

Here I got feedback from our PD team, please find comment below:
It's a reasonable but not common request for now, so the schedule to add this feature is about Q4, 2018, I afraid the date is NOT OK for you, isn't it?
If you want us to add it earlier, please kindly tell me when you need it, and why, I will explaine to the PD team.

Best Regards,
Yealink_Travis
Dear Chris,

Our PD team has another solution, if it's OK for you, the schedule will be faster. (around Q2~Q3, 2018)

We could create an sub-option based on "Audio Alert for BLF Pickup", on this sub-option, customer could add the targets as they want, and also set the ringtone for this group, however, in this solution, ONLY the targets on this option will ring when the BLF status changes, for other targets, they don't have audio alert.
Is it OK for you?

Any misunderstanding, freely to let me know.

Best Regards,
Yealink_Travis
Yes that would be fine, looking forward to it
Nice !
One of our customers just asked us for this very exact feature !
If you need testers for a new firmware, contact me !
I would like to give you a business case why you should implement this feature. We sell into many hedge funds, Financial advisors and small brokerages. Let me give a common example. Small firm with 10 financial advisors and 3 assistants. Everyone in the firm has a DID. The 10 people are split into 3 teams. The 3 assistants are responsible for covering all the extensions for all 3 teams, however the financial advisors only want to cover for the other members of their team, but want BLF to members of the other teams.

Yealink is our Primary SIp phone vendor. I love your product. But In this scenario I cannot sell Yealink phones because if I enable the ring on blf feature, I have to make the phones ring for all BLFs on the phone. In this case I would need to sell an AVAYA solution because I cannot give them what they want. Yes, I can get creative with multiple sip registrations and other methods, but it is not clean or easy.

If there were a way to either enable the BLF ring feature globally on the phone, then tell a BLF not to ring based on some code in the Extension field of the BLF key or some other IF/THEN type parameter, then you make a powerful feature into a winning feature. In my opinion, this is a feature that will increase sales. I know this because I will not sell Yealink phones to my financial clients on the PBX platform we offer. If I had this feature, I would immediately offer Yealink. It would solve many sales problems for me with regard to Yealink. You can solve a problem for asterisk implementations and drive more Yealink sales.

I can also make sales cases in the Medical and Legal industries who both have similar needs as the ones I've stated above. I urge you to implement this feature so I can sell more Yealink phones! Thank you for listening!
Hi chaps,
I see the feature has been released in . 66.84.0.10.rom - this is great - thank the dev team for me.
Are you intending to release that FW or similar to the G range - - as the downloads page still shows 83.0.50 for G series phones?
If its of any interest I am working on a white paper that explains how the feature would be used. Its a common assumption that when 'we' as the technologists release a new feature, people 'get it'. But we are working in a very conservative market - I often moan that resellers often deliver a featureset to customers thats really just replicating functionality from the 1970s, when we had little more than electromagnetic relays and filament lamps.
