I make a General Voicemail extension for my clients using ext 200 , for Snom and Grandstream phones , I can make a "voicemail" button that monitors the MWI of that extension since it has no associated phone,

this way if a message is left in ext 200 the General Voicemail Box , it can light a button on all phones if I like , to alert them to call x200 andcheck the message ,

is this something you have or can implement , its a great feature I use all the time and we miss it with the T29 and T48 phones we sell to clients ,

hi Brandywine

thanks for your information, for this feature i am sorry that Yealink can't support it for the moment , if you can provide the pcap file of how the SNOW and Grandstream phone realize it , then it is helpful for us to evaluate this request!

for the moment , yealink phone can support 200 it self to use the MWI .

thanks
hi Brandywine

for this request , would you please make the following details clear for me :

1. how does Cisco or GS phone realized this feature ? by set a DSS Key as Voicemail and the value is ext200? use line 1 which also register to the same PBX of ext200, and if setting take effect ,then the led of DSS Key will light up ?

2. how does Cisco or GS phone alert the monitors that there is a new voicemail to ext200? by light up a led light , and turn red or some other color? or just promote a window and showing a new voice mail to ext200?

3. how does the other extension to listen the voice mail of ext 200 when using Cisco or GS Phones?

4. why the other person need to monitor the voice mail of ext200? any user scenario ?

all above questions are aimed at making this request more clear and help our R&D to evaluate and realized it !

looking forward to your reply!
Hi,

Do you have an update to this? We are a large supplier of your phones and we have several requests to be able to monitor another Voicemail box (MWI) from their phone.

When some employees go on vacation or are out for a few days, their managers would like to monitor their voicemail box. The want to program a line/key on their phone to monitor the employee. This way they do not have to do anything unless the button lights up, then they want to push it and listen to the voicemail.

Have you been able to test or make this work based off a NON asterisk based environment?

Hi,

This is just a thought, not tested and only if you are using 3CX…

Create a new (dummy) extension, e.g. CommonVM and setup the Call Forward No Answer for each extension to go to the voicemail of the new extension.
Then on each phone, add the newly created extension as line 2 (Match the advanced settings from the main line for the WMI to work).
Then when that mailbox gets a message, all phones will notify you, and you can check it from each phone.

Hope this helps.
actually , it is more reasonable to do this feature on server side as it send NOTIFY message to all members once any one receive the voice mail.
