Full Version: T48G Span to PC function not working

I am trying to troubleshoot a SIP issue on a T48G phone. I know the phone memory buffer does not allow for long pcaps on the phone. I have setup the phone to span to the PC port so I can use Wireshark for my pcap. However, wireshark does not see any traffic passing through it.

I used the instructions listed here:http://support.yealink.com/faq/faqInfo?id=314 under situation 2.

I also just upgraded the firmware on the phone to 35.80.0.95 as we do not want to use screen savers yet on the phones.

Any other ideas how to get the traffic to pass through the PC port so I can get a good pcap using wireshark?
Hi Sir,

To use Span to PC feature, please connect the Internet port of the IP phone to the Internet and the PC port of the IP phone to a PC. Before capturing the signal traffic, make sure the data packets can be received from the
Internet port to the PC port.

Please check if you use: http://support.yealink.com/faq/faqInfo?id=314 under situation 1, can you get the pace?
Also, can you update the firmware to the latest version and test again:

Also, you can try to receiving data packets from the HUB:
Connect the Internet port of the IP phone and the PC to the same HUB, and then use Sniffer, Ethereal or Wireshark software to capture the signal traffic.
Also can do Port Mirroring if you have smart switches.
ie:
Phone on Port 1
PC on Port 2
Mirror the 2 ports so all data travels thru both ports...
