Full Version: T48G Power LED blinking when screen off

After updating to the latest firmware on my T48G (35.81.0.25), I've noticed an irritating behavior that the phone never exhibited before. Whenever the screen goes off (in the GUI I have Unused Backlight set to off with a 2 minute delay), the Power LED light starts blinking slowly. This doesn't happen when I change the Unused Backlight setting to low.

I can't find any setting related to the Power LED that stops this from happening, nor do I know if this is simply the way the new firmware tells the phone to behave or not. I've tried a factory reset of the phone, and it still happens. It also isn't related to my VOIP service provider, as the phone exhibits the behavior before I even setup an SIP account on in it. If this is some new desired behavior, I'd appreciate an option be added in the phone's GUI to disable it. I find it irritating as I only want the LED to blink like that when there's a voicemail waiting. But now, whenever the screen goes off the phone behaves as if I have a voicemail, and the only way to know for sure is to hit a button to switch on the screen.
Do you mean the same problem as here:

?
Hi, this LED flash is design by default to indicator the phone still live while enter power saving mode.
we will optimization the LED flash in our next version.
thanks for your feedback.
Hi Jensen,

what do you mean with "our next version"? I hope you mean the next firmware and not the next phone-version??? Because this flashing ist absolutely not acceptable, if I cannot change this "default" with a parameter.
Hi Werner1959,

it is next release firmware but not the next phone-version.
thank you.

A new firmware was released today. But the issue still exists. So please clarify, what do you mean with "next" release?

How can you say this is "design by default?" This is a "new" item in the firmware. This is a CHANGE to the behavior of the device. No one likes it. No one.

I've never walked by my phone and wondered if it was still working. Oh, that's right, let's make it look like I have VM waiting. That'll let me know the phone is still working. Really?

I use a headset so the green headset light is always on. ALWAYS. That's one way to know the phone is working. Why emulate the MWI?

We need an option to turn off this useless "feature" now. Not months from now. There are plenty of people here that have all requested this be fixed.

The next firmware release was today. The problem is not solved. Why? Yealink MUST help us NOW. Blinking without missed call and without new message is stupid and therefore not acceptable.
To all the people out there, please do not shout at the forum and keep it nice. This is really not necessarily and you don’t getting things faster. Only more frustrations. Maybe are some words not well formulated. Sorry about that. Be patience.

Please try next workaround where the display is at a low backlight level and let’s say after 3 hours the screensaver is going active. As for now the MWI led is not flashing.
Settings > Power Savings > Power Saving-Disabled
Settings > Preference > Screensaver Wait Time-3h
Settings > Preference > Active Backlight Level-1

Hope this helps.
