Greetings,

We are running a 3CX Phone System (version 12.0.37098.738 SP 6.1) at our Corporate office and have a remote office where we're deploying the W52P base station with a single cordless handset. This remote office uses WAN communications with the 3CX Phone System clients configured as remote extensions. Base station firmware is 25.80.0.15; hardware version is 25.1.0.0.0.0.0.

At the remote office, we have Yealink T42 & T46 handsets which use the 3CX Session Border Controller (SBC) running on a Windows 7 Pro PC. We also use the 3CX softphone for Windows, and these are configured for direct Internet access. We have been running this configuration for the past 3 years.

I was able to provision the base station by creating a new extension on the 3CX Phone System PBX and the base station is registered to the extension. I am not using the remote site SBC for connectivity back to the PBX; it is configured for direct Internet access. I was also able to register the cordless handset to the base station.

What I am not clear on is how to configure/assign an existing user's extension to the cordless handset. Plus, since the base station can handle up to 4 handsets, please advise on how to provision each handset so it will function with the remote extension assigned to it from the PBX.
Hi Reiddm,

You can Configure/assign an existing user's extension to cordless phone on the server side.
From i have known, during you config the extension on the server side, it will need to add the MAC to the server.
the detail please refer to below link:
https://www.3cx.com/sip-phones/yealink-dect-w52p/

if you want all the handsets share the same account, please refer to below admin guide, from page 87 to 92.
if you want all the handset with difference accounts, You can't auto provision the additional accounts but you can do it manually, that means you can manually add the account info to your provisioning cfg file, then provisioning the phone.
hope this help you.
thank you

Jensen, thank you for the information. Unfortunately, that article is specific to the 3CX v.15 phone system, and we're on version 12.

Hi Dan,

Prior to v15 SP4 you can provision only 1 account, all other accounts has to be setup manually.
To setup the other accounts (2-5) you have to examine the provisioned account 1 and setup the other accounts with the extension credentials like account 1.

Hope this helps.

I was able to complete the phone provisioning using the user's extension on the base unit. I can place calls, receive calls, but when attempting to use the transfer button and select the 3CX address book, it generates a connection error. Any ideas?

Hi Reiddm,

the provisioning process is similar to V15. I check the 3cx server on V11 that installed in our lab, the process is similar to V15, during you assign the extension to the phone, you can add the MAC. Please testing on your side, also you can contact 3CX team for help.
thank you.
