Good Afternoon,

Has anyone else seen an issue with the new Yealink T4XS backlight? We were told that the configuration profiles should be same. Therefore, we have not made any changes to our current config file for the T4XG models.

The phone comes up with the default backlight settings, then pulls the config file where we set the backlight to 15 sec and brightness '8' instead of the default 'Always On' and '8'. The phone immediately turns the backlight off, on the T42S the screen is just very dull but everything is visible because it is a grayscale screen. However, on the T46S the screen is so dark that it seems as if the screen is off.

Logging into the phone over the web as soon as the time or brightness settings are adjusted up or down the screen immediately becomes bright. Then setting it back to the settings it pulls from our config it continues to stay bright.

Is anyone else having this issue? We are trying to avoid creating an entirely new config file for these phones from scratch. Does anyone have this problem and have a suggestion for any small changes that can be made to the config file?

Were there additional settings added that could be interfering with the original pull of the config file?

Thank you in advance!
Hello,

There's another parameter available for T46S(only available for T48G/T48S/T46G/T46S/T29G): phone_setting.inactive_backlight_level=
It configures the intensity of the LCD screen when the phone is inactive.
0-Off
1-Low
If it's set as 0, in your case, T46S screen will turn to dark(turn off completely) after 15s inactive. But for T42S, just as you mentioned it's a grayscale screen, it's not able to turn off the screen completely. So that's why you see the difference between these two models. if you want to keep T46S and T42S as the same behavior, please just set it as "1" on T46S.

Thank you!

Best Regards,
Peter

This issue was resolved in XX.81.0.20+ firmware; upgrade to that firmware rev and you'll be all set.
