Full Version: Add USB port to power external device (DECT handset dock, headset, ...)

Hello,

Phone operators need accessories than are very often these days, USB-powered.
Some of them such as DECT handset dock or headset charging dock have lower power requirements (<3W).

Having a USB port available just to power these devices would be a unique feature: one PoE cable to power both a deskphone and its headset !

Hi Oliv,

thanks for your advice.
We are going to release the new T4S series(T41S/T42S/T46S/T48S) soon, all the T4S will support USB 2.0 port(5V/500mA). The USB port is for BT dongle and WIFI dongle, but not for USB charging, but i think you can try it after they are release.
for the other models, i will feedback to our PM to evaluate this in our future product design.
thank you
Thanks for sharing this info (T41S/T42S/T46S/T48S) here.

Maybe a power-only USB cable would make this work without any software or hardware mod.
If USB port is required to host a BT dongle, then a second USB port (power-only or not) would be also needed to power a headset.

Best regards
