Full Version: Complaints about silence after major firmware upgrade

We have done a couple of major version updates on some of our phones.

Updating T26 from 6.70.0.150 to 6.73.0.50

One complaint we have been getting a lot of is after the update, users say when they are talking into the phone, the line goes silent and they can't tell if the call has dropped or not. Before the update the users said they would be able to hear themselves echo a little bit when they were talking.

I thought this might be VAD or CNG but I have tested with both of those enabled, disabled, etc. with no difference.

Any idea what might have changed (I know its a huge jump in firmware versions) after the update?
Hi,
Thanks for your information , from your description ,it seems the side tone feature ( the customer can't hear themseves during the talking ) , the V73 has disabled the side tone feature.
you can enable the feature by below syntax through auto provisioning.
voice.side_tone= -3
you can refer to below,

please test and let us know if any question.
Best Regards!

Hi Flora,

Yes! That was it. I actually found some other threads that discussed side tone and was about to update this thread.

That did restore the functionality we were looking for.

Thank you!
