Hi guys,

We have some T46G handsets in our office and I have programmed a Record button using a DSS Key and it seems to record ok when pressed mid call... but my question is, where is the recording stored?

Is it stored locally in the handset or somewhere else?

The Yealink User Guide does make reference to "call record is not available on all servers. Contact your system admin for more info" but unfortunately I don't really have access to anyone else.

Thanks for your help in advance,

Ray_Grey
Hi Ray,

The recording is not stored in phone. It's in PBX server side.
When you press the record dsskey phone will send a record request to server. So this feature needs the support of PBX server.

Hi James,

Thanks for your reply, i had a feeling that may have been the case. As we have a virtual PBX unit, I'm assuming i would have to speak to the service provider and see if it is a function they are able to provide / offer?

Are there any minimum specs / requirements i should make them aware of when asking?
No specs, this is the request sample Yealink phones send. Just ask them whether they can support recording feature and this header.
