Hello,

I am running into a problem where RTP is not having DSCP set correctly. From the pcap I show the incoming data from my phone server sets DSCP to 46 (0x2e) but the outgoing phone RTP is not set. (0x01)

The phone is a T46G running 28.73.0.45

Any idea why this is?

Confirmed both on PCAP in phone and from a mirrored switch port.

Thank you,

Tim
Hi Tim,

In v73 phone will acquire the DSCP and VLAN ID from LLDP packet firstly.
So if you enable the LLDP feature, please set the DSCP and VID in your switch then phone will acquire it.
From your pcap trace, the DSCP included in LLDP packet is 1.

James
What if lldp is not enabled or not being used? Is lldp-med required for correct Dscp or can this be set on the phone?
If LLDP is disabled the QOS setting under network-> Advanced will be applied.
If you use LLDP feature then the value of Dscp in the defined in the packet should be correct.

Regards,
James
