For small networks without a DNS server but using mDNS auto discovery (aka Bonjour) it would be extremely helpful for Yealink phones to support mDNS. In our case all network devices can use names instead of hard coded addresses except for Yealink phones. This is now a big headache since we are going to IPV6 and the IP addresses are very long and have to be placed into each phone. Another advantage is that we could easily switch to a different SIP server machine without having to reprogram every phone. Please pass this on as a feature request, hopefully it can be implemented soon.
Other vendors such as Aastra, Cisco, Grandstream, etc. support Autodiscovery via mDNS, Yealink should too. Thank you.
