Full Version: T46g crash/freeze and reboot

Our receptionist uses a T46G (firmware SIP-T46G 28.72.0.1)
The phone has 5x EXP40 modules attached with roughly 70 or 80 BLF's.

The problem is that the phone is crashing and rebooting every day. My receptionist says the crash/reboot occurs under the following conditions:

Phone call in progress, another call comes into the phone, first call is ended or parked, incoming call shows up on screen like normal, and then the phone crashes and reboots. The screen apparently freezes for about 30 seconds but the phone continues to ring. After 30 seconds, the phone reboots.

I've included the log that I downloaded immediately after the last crash.
I can not read these files myself - hopefully support will chime in.
A couple questions...
1) Are you plugged in using a power supply?
2) Have you ensured the auto-config/reprovision is not set for daily during the day?
3) Have you tried resetting to factory and reprovisioning it?

May seem like dumb questions - but every detail counts.

1. Yes. The phone, and all 5 EXP40 modules each have their own power supply. We use the same PSU for all our T46G phones, and the PSU's have not changed since we first brought these phones online. The crash however, only started in the past month or so.
2. Yes. Autoprovision only occurs during phone reboot. We never force autoprovision during the day, and it is not on a schedule.
3. Yes, reset to factory and reprovisioned.

I just updated the firmware to 28.72.0.45 which may fix the issue, but Yealinks firmware changelog never really gives any detail as to what's been fixed/changed.
One thing you might want to try is setting up a syslog server and point the phone to the syslog to dump its logs. Otherwise when the phone power cycles you loose logs as to what is happening before the crash.

I know this is kind of tedious work and not a clear cut answer to the issue but we have figured out issues before by capturing all that is happening before the crash.

For a syslog server i would recommend 3CDeamon. Old program but still works very good.
Thank you very much. craigreilly and tsukraw. You answer helps a lot. Smile
