I know I wrote this elsewhere in another part of the forum but it was before this topic of beta v73 was created. Anyhow I was assured that SMS text messaging support would be added for v73 and now after a long wait I still don't see that promised support.

When will SMS text messaging support be added for the T48G?
Hi Jayw654,

Currently there is no plan to add the SMS to T48G.
May I know is the SMS feature important to you? Why?

Thanks
James
Sure because Ring Central supports it and I use it and that's reason enough. Right now I'm stuck with using it on my T46G. But thanks for the heads so now I know I need to send my other unopened T48g back and opt for the T46G instead.

We also have the T48G replacing the T38G and are now finding it doesn't included SMS functionality... Confused

The question should rather be why Yealink opted to NOT include this feature in its flagship phone? For consistency, it should be included. Or please answer why it is not included in the T48G but the T46G has it. How to explain to the customers who want to use SMS with their providers?
Yup, On a flagship phone its a no brainer as it should be included and that's plain and simple. Nothing in the world can change that fact. So yes I'm VER dissappointed that its not included. I'm also upset that I was mislead by and admin that said it would be included in the V73 firmware. This certainly gives me second thoughts on buying from Yealink in the future.

Hi Jayw654/cptjack,

I have forwarded your reqeust to our product department and emphasize the importance of SMS to some users.
I got a feedback just now that the SMS will be supported in all Yealink phone model in a later version which could be available in December 2014 or January 2015.

So if you are interested in T48G you can consider it that time. Smile

James
Thank you James, for picking up this issue!

Does this mean we will be getting a T3x firmware with a bunch of enhancements and SMS?
Thanks for getting this added. The only reason it wasn't so important before is because providers weren't supporting it yet but now that is changing and is a needed feature.

Hey I would like it implemented in such a way that that we can send text messages from the touch screen and receive them on the screen as well. Kind of like how most mobile phones handle it. Notifications and a quick link/button to bring up the message so we can reply to it easily. So I just don't want the feature added I want it added and extremely robust and easy to use. I don't want to have to go into the config area of the phone to send the SMS text message.
