I thought the phone (I have both T21P and T28P) was not capable of unicode characters, but today I visited someone else's office and it is certainly a T28P except the name being the carrier instead of Yealink.
It does Chinese characters on the screen, have I missed something in the settings or using the wrong firmware?
My phonebook is unicode but shows "????" on the phone screen.
Please advise!

Would you please tell me what is the firmware version of your IP phone and what language do you want to display about the phonebook.
Given below is latest firmware version for T21, you can upgrade to the version to check if it can solve this issue.

I am using T21P and T28P and wish to have Chinese (Traditional) shown on screen. Thanks for the link for T21, can I also have the firmware for T28?
For T28, I used the beta release, it now has Chinese web interface but not phone screen display.
I will try to flash it over the weekend once I have the T28 as well, thank you!

I have just tested the link you sent me and yes it works with Chinese characters now, thanks!
However I tried a few ROMs for T28P but it still shows "???" only, even though it has Chinese web UI now.
The ROMs I have tried so far:
2.73.0.15 beta
2.72.0.80
2.72.0.75
