My alptop does not recognise the W52P device when I connect it to the USB port. As a result I cannot use the "flasher.exe" program to instal the driver on the phone and then perform the upgrade. We have tried to connect the W52P phone via USB to laptops running Windows XP and Windows 8 but neither recognise the phone. Is this a known problem and are there any fixes for this ?
Discovered a solution - The documentation recommends placing the handset in the battery charging cradle when doing the upgrade. However, as described in original post, in this scenario the laptop fails to recognize the device connected to the usb port and it is not possible to load the driver. We noticed that once the handset was removed from the battery charging cradle the laptop was then able to recognize the device, the driver loaded and the upgrade proceeded successfully.
