I am using T42G.
I know that I can set the backlight time in: Phone>Preference>backlinght time(seconds) however this only turn off the backlight.

At the moment when LCD backlight is turn on in night time it is much too bright.
When I am using the phone in day time (even when it is not a sunny day) and the backlight is off I can't read anything from LCD.

I want to have a subtle backlight - just to read the date, time, missed calls etc.
Is there a way to set the backlight level when the phone is not active?
or set the working hours when I want to have a backlight on?
Sorry that the T42 can't support this function.
But the other phones(T46/T48/T49) can set the backlight level.

Ok, thank you for information. I will test T46 also.

What's about idea to set the working hours?
It will save energy, the life of the display and can be practical for many companies - not just our customers.

Any chances to pass my idea to your firmware development team?
