The backlight on my T22P is set to 15 secs. I noticed that, after upgrading to the latest firmware 7.72.0.1, the backlight comes on once every two minutes (approximately) and goes off again after 15 secs. This was never the case with previous firmware. I have looked for settings which could possibly cause this behaviour but couldn't find any. Of course, I could switch the backlight off altogether but that is not what I want as I want to be able to see the display clearly when I enter a number. I find it annoying that the light comes on for no reason. Any ideas?
Hi ozimarco,

Do you use auto provisioning? If yes, please send me the cfg file that i can debug. Maybe some parameters are conflicting.
At the same time, please send me your config.bin or you can give me a screenshot of power LED setting.

Enter the webpage->Feature->Power LED

I attach a screenshot for you in T20p.
Thank you for responding. I don't use auto provisioning. Both PNP Active and DHCP Active are set to OFF. The Yealink is connected to an ethernet port on the Billion 7800VDPX. I made the Power LED settings identical to the ones in your screenshot and confirmed. Unfortunately, this hasn't made the problem go away. The power LED is now off but the backlight of the display is still coming on by itself.

Actually, what do the power LED settings have to do with the display backlight settings? Aren't they separate?

The only settings I can find relating to the backlight are under Settings > Backlight Time(seconds). I have this set at 15 secs. No idea why the light comes on about every two minutes. What could possibly prompt the light to come on?
Hi ozimarco,

Sorry. Can you reset to factory and test again? Do your backlight work well in previous version?

In order to do more troubleshooting, please supply me syslog level 6, config.bin and pcap.
Before you export the syslog, please set log level as 6, and reboot the phone, then click Start, and reproduce the issue, then click Stop, and export the trace, syslog, config, bin to us.
(About where to export these files, please refer to attached screenshot.)

These three files are very important to us, hope you can kindly understand.
The backlight was working faultlessly on previous firmware. Strangely enough, the problem now seems to have gone away all by itself. It is a complete and utter mystery to me. If it resurfaces, I will supply you with the file information you need for troubleshooting.

Thanks for your help.
Hello,

we had this problem on our T28 as well in 2.72.0.1. We downgraded to 2.71.0.168 and the problem disappeared.
We are provisioning our phones from the 3CX V11 system.
Hi johandezwaan,

Do you mean that your backlight lights have the same problem? Can you describe more details for me?
Do you use 3CX to auto provisioning?
Hi,

I have same problem with T28.
When is phone idle, display backlight is turning on and off continuously.
Hi Support,

our backlight is experiencing the same problem. it is also continuously turning on and off again. i didn't time the time in between, but it is is very disturbing.
We are using auto provisioning in 3CX.

Every time it lights up i see it in the corner of my eyes and instantly think i am receiving an call.
