I believe this is more a bug than a configuration issue.
Essentially what is happening is the T46G is holding the Bluetooth Audio channel OPEN even when not in a phone call. The only way to close the audio channel is to hit the Headset button to disable headset mode (Even though the headset stays paired to the T46G).
With mobile phones (Or even older Bluetooth base stations from the likes of Plantronics) when a phone call comes in the Phone opens the audio channel and your Bluetooth headset 'wakes' from sleep mode and allows audio transmission; when the phone call is completed it signals the headset to go back to sleep and you don't waste your battery using talk time when no body is talking.
I've confirmed this with 3 different Bluetooth Adapters (Including the Yealink BT40) and with three different Bluetooth Headsets (Plantronics, Jawbone and Bose). The problem is not with the headsets or Bluetooth adapters.
Yealink are you able to update the firmware on the phones to support using Standby mode correctly?
(If any one knows of a config change that would allow for this I'm all ears as well )
