So on the T41P phone I can move that phone after it is registered from one ip address range to another no issues. Now on the T38G I am running into an issue doing that. The phones are set to get dhcp. Same kind of switch, configured the same exact way. I am running firmware 38.70.0.125.

If i register the phone on 172 network works fine, move it the 192 network. Phone comes up but will not register with stored configuration file. If i log into the web gui it says failed to register. If i hit the autoprovision now button, it says it is working on it but it still will not register successfully. If i move it back to the 172 works soon as it boots up.

I can swap this by initially registering it on the 192 then move it to the 172 and same thing. it will not register successfully. hit autoprovision, says it will but will not successfully register.

Then i registered it had is working on the 192 network but then made a change to the ip address scheme and rebooted the phone same issue.

This leads me to believe there is something wrong with the firmware.

anyone else?
Hi JamesK,

Do you mean you want to get the configuration file through DHCP options?
Can you tell me your firmware version?

firmware is 38.70.0.125

what i am saying is i have the phones set on dhcp instead of static ip addressing. that is all.

the problem is when this phone is configured, what ever ip address scheme that it registers with is the only one it will work with. So if you make some change you have to reregister the phones by defaulting them and then letting them reregister. the t41p does not do that.
Hi JamesK,

T38G has V70 version and T41P has V71 version.
In v71 version, we add dynamic getting VLAN feature. So T41P can dynamic get different VLAN ip.

This has nothing todo wtih VLAN. This is just straight lan. I am sorry if I was not clear on this. Unless you are saying the answer still applies. If so then when is v71 for the t38 coming out?
