Full Version: Failure to obtain IP Address

I have a T42G I'm trying to install that can't seem to obtain an IP address. I tried another, good working phone at the same location with the same results.
There is a PC in that office that is able to obtain an IP address. This particular location is quite a distance from the switch and I was wondering if perhaps that maybe the issue.
If it were, how can the PC obtain an IP address but the phones cannot?? Any suggestions will be welcomed!!

Do you use a DHCP server? May be your DHCP cache need to be cleared. Then it can re-bind address of new phone.

My colleague advise you to check the network as below:

1. Use a TP-LINK switch or others to connect from switch to the location of T42G.(Like a repeater )
Switch--TP-LINK switch--location of T42G
And check whether can obtain the IP address.

2. Change a cable with less degradation rate
