if I test the files with openssl verify -CAfile the client and server crt return ok.
problem solved : the openvpn like mention in the post above the vpn client of yealink doesn support sha256 and this is what I had so when changed to md5 all worked fine.

I'm sorry to reply to such an old post, but I'm having the exact same issue as the original poster. Trying to get OpenVPN working on a T20P. Followed the guide you provided in post #5 to a T. Nowhere was I asked to select SHA1 or SHA256. I don't think I'm using 256 but how can I tell? I can tell you that the ca.crt looks very similar to the one provided above. But I'm definitely selecting DH1024 instead of DH2048 when generating the cert.

Could you please tell me how I can ensure I'm using the correct hash? I've been fighting this issue for a long time now!
